I recently met Kathryn Hines in support of 'The Andrew Oliver BIG Heart Fund'. Kathryn plans to raise money for 24hr public access defibrillators after her fiancé passed away very suddenly at Christmas time last year. So far Kathryn has seen Helston's first 24hr defib installed outside Helston Cricket Club and is in receipt of a second machine this week to be located on the Water ma Trout Industrial Estate. Plans exist to have a third installed in the town centre and further defibs will be placed in strategic locations, funds permitting. This is a fantastic effort as I know these defibrillators are costly! Each defibrillator and cabinet is £1925 and you can help by donating financially to 'The Andrew Oliver BIG Heart Fund' using the following BACs details: Sort Code: 20-67-19 Account Number: 93786536
In my neck of the woods a number of defibrillators have been provided following the very successful efforts of the team behind the Ronnie Richard's Memorial Charity who are helping Kathryn Hines to source the defibrillators. Ronnie was someone I knew well prior to his sudden death whilst playing 5-a-side football. He was a well known carpet fitter in Penzance and his daughter Sarah was active in my youth work team prior to moving to Stoke where she lives today. With all this in mind I wish Kathryn every success and will continue to do what I can to help.
On Monday 11th May I 'enrolled' in Parliament at 8am. During the following eleven weeks most of my time was spent in Westminster which was not unexpected. On my Fridays and Saturdays in the constituency I have made every effort to meet as many people as possible and pursue my core 'skills, jobs, housing and health' priorities. So it is only now that I have been able to focus my efforts on the constituency office in Penzance and ensure that it is providing an excellent service for the people of West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Thank you for bearing with me, please do not hesitate to contact me as your need arises.
