Derek Thomas, who ran as the Conservative PPC in this constituency in 2010, reducing Andrew George's majority from 11609 to 1719, has been adopted as the the PPC for the 2015 General Election. At a meeting held in The Trafalgar Room at The Union Hotel in Penzance, Derek delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining why he believed he should be picked to run again and then took a wide ranging set of questions from the audience.
After the confirmationm of his adoption as PPC, Derek said:
"I care passionately about this constituency. I grew up here, I live here and I work here. It is a great privilege to serve this beautiful part of the United Kingdom.
I will do all I can to build a healthy, prosperous and caring community in West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. I will work to ensure that healthcare is delivered as close to home as is possible.
I will campaign on behalf of our youngsters so they get the education and opportunities they need to live full and active lives”
